Keeping Them…Honestly, Just Read the Fine Print

cooperad_7-21.JPGCNN took out a full-page ad for Anderson Cooper 360 today in the New York Times, touting the show being, “#1 at 10pm.”

The header of the ad is Cooper’s slogan, “Keeping Them Honest,” and the bottom portion is a large photo of Cooper on assignment.

Then there’s the fine print. The #1 figure refers to: “Q2’08 (3/31/08-6/29/08), live+same day data, P25-54 GRPs, M-F 10P-11P program average among CNN, HLN, FXNC, MSNBC and CNBC.”

So, just to…keep them honest, the show was #1 during the second quarter in the A25-54 demo, at 10pmET using L+SD data, but is #2 to FNC’s On the Record with Greta Van Susteren using any other measure (like Total Viewers, for example).

And so far in July, FNC leads in all categories at 10pmET, including the demo (309,000 to 271,000).
