Koppel & Brokaw “Should Join Up”
Following up on Monday’s post about the Tom Brokaw/Ted Koppel edition of Meet the Press:![]()
Liz Smith loved it. “What an hour!,” she exclaims. “Koppel and Brokaw are two of the most articulate and well-informed men in the media. And their opinions and ruminations on the state of the country and the world were riveting for clarity, compassion and ‘smarts.’![]()
Koppel, now retired from Nightline and wondering what to do next, is a man who has done his homework. He thinks before he speaks and speaks with an authority that is both commanding and comforting. Brokaw stands tall as a formidable, trustworthy and appealing public presence. Ted and Tom, these two grand “old” men of news, played off each other brilliantly. I think they should join up, create a show, and give cable TV some classy competition.![]()
And NBC: Please rerun this hour! So many people were busy with Santa’s largesse; they may have missed it.” You can watch the Netcast here…![]()
