Koppel & Brokaw “Should Join Up”

mtpdec28.jpgFollowing up on Monday’s post about the Tom Brokaw/Ted Koppel edition of Meet the Press:

Liz Smith loved it. “What an hour!,” she exclaims. “Koppel and Brokaw are two of the most articulate and well-informed men in the media. And their opinions and ruminations on the state of the country and the world were riveting for clarity, compassion and ‘smarts.’

Koppel, now retired from Nightline and wondering what to do next, is a man who has done his homework. He thinks before he speaks and speaks with an authority that is both commanding and comforting. Brokaw stands tall as a formidable, trustworthy and appealing public presence. Ted and Tom, these two grand “old” men of news, played off each other brilliantly. I think they should join up, create a show, and give cable TV some classy competition.

And NBC: Please rerun this hour! So many people were busy with Santa’s largesse; they may have missed it.” You can watch the Netcast here…
