Kyra Phillips Re-Ups With CNN After Talking with CBS
Insiders tell TVNewser 10-year CNN veteran Kyra Phillips is staying put at the network’s Atlanta HQ. There had been speculation the mid-day anchor was heading to CBS to either take a position with CBS News or with their Los Angeles station, KCBS.
Phillips joined CNN from KCBS in 1999.
The talks with CBS began months ago. Phillips’ current contract expired in September. The new deal keeps her with CNN three more years. In addition to anchoring the 1-3pmET hours, Phillips will continue to work on documentaries and international reporting.
