Larry King Becomes A Hollywood Square

kingsquare_7-10.JPGLarry King, “broadcast icon,” gets the Hollywood royal treatment this afternoon.

The city will name the intersection of Sunset and Cahuenga Boulevards “Larry King Square,” in honor of King. The CNN anchor is based out of CNN’s Los Angeles bureau, located at that intersection.

At the event, taking place at 5pmET, will be King, president of CNN Worldwide Jim Walton, president of CNN/U.S. Jon Klein and Eric Garcetti, LA city council president.

Also many media outlets are expected. No word if CNN will be broadcasting the ceremony live or possibly during LKL tonight.

King tells TVNewser: “Of all the dreams I could have had when I started out in broadcasting, the last thing in the world I would have imagined would be having part of a street — let alone Sunset Boulevard — named after me. How can I top this?”
