Mary Alice Williams Goes Back to School
Former CNN and NBC News anchor and correspondent Mary Alice Williams is going back to school — teaching writing and broadcasting classes this fall at SUNY-Purchase. Williams joins the faculty as Assistant Professor of Journalism.
Williams was one of the founding prime-time anchors and designers of CNN. She was later named vice president at the network. Later, at NBC News, Williams was the first woman to win an Emmy Award for anchoring an evening newscast, NBC Nightly News.
Williams began teaching at SUNY-Purchase last year as a visiting assistant professor.
