Matthews is Staying With (Or Leaving) MSNBC
In the continuing saga over whether MSNBC’s Chris Matthews will leave the network to pursue a Pennsylvania Senate seat, two dueling reports suggest Matthews is closer to signing a new contract and closer to leaving.
Politico’s Michael Calderone reports Matthews is, “expected to sign a long-term contract to remain as host of MSNBC’s ‘Hardball.’”
In the Philadelphia Inquirer, Thomas Fitzgerald writes “signs are growing that he wants to be” a Senator.
Regarding the Politico report, an MSNBC spokesperson tells TVNewser, “There’s nothing to it.” We’re hearing there is no announcement imminent about whether Matthews will be staying or leaving. The speculation continues…
