McCain Campaign’s Problem With Brokaw?
Sen. John McCain‘s “love affair” with the media is over, but has the rift hit a new height? Bloomberg’s Heidi Przybyla writes about the recent uproar over Bristol Palin‘s pregnancy, media coverage campaign manager Steve Schmidt called “demeaning” yesterday.
But in the wake of an angry letter delivered from the McCain campaign to NBC News president Steve Capus over, “irresponsible journalism,” it appears McCain was ready to take it to another level.
Przybyla reports, “The campaign even considered pulling out of one of the three presidential debates because it would be moderated by Tom Brokaw, a former NBC News anchorman.”
Maybe that action was squashed. Przybyla writes, “Capus said he spoke with the McCain campaign after he received the letter and ‘there is no issue in terms of a broader problem.’”
