Mainstream Networks Tackle NY Jets Sexual Harrassment Incident

It is no wonder that the New York Jets have been in the media spotlight for much of the off-season and pre-season. They have a solid team with a quarterback made for the cameras in Mark Sanchez, and a coach who has a certain je ne se qua when it comes to words in Rex Ryan. The team’s appearance in HBO’s “Hard Knocks” only serves to add to the media frenzy.

Unfortunately, over the last few days the team has had some rather bad PR… and now the mainstream TV news networks are beginning to cover it.

As SportsNewser has covered, TV Azteca reporter Inés Sainz was apparently harassed by some of the team’s players when she went to a practice over the weekend. The NFL is investigating the incident.

Today, Fox News, CNN and MSNBC all covered the charges… and used the opportunity to show some sexy photos of Ms. Sainz:

All of which begs the question, is the coverage helping, or hurting the cause?

Update: Sainz spoke to CNN’s Rick Sanchez this afternoon.
