About 24 hours after John Roberts first got up anticipating the news, Sen. Barack Obama named Sen. Joe Biden his running mate late last night. And about 12 hours after the “3 a.m. text message,” Obama and Biden took the stage in Illinois together for the first time. The cablers were there, of course (Headline News as well), as was ABC News, which broke in for a special report, anchored by Charlie Gibson > Update: CBS News also broke in with a special report, anchored by Kelly Wallace, which lasted through Obama’s portion of the speeches:![]()
