Meredith Debuts: 6.9 Million Viewers

The Today Show averaged 6.9 million viewers on Meredith Vieira‘s debut day, NBC’s press release says. That’s up more than a million from last week’s show average. The broadcast also averaged a 2.6 rating in the 25-54 demo.

“Excluding Katie Couric’s last day and four days during the Torino Olympics, this is Today’s best single day average since December 9, 2005 (7.5 million) in total viewers,” NBC says. Today beat GMA by 2.5 million viewers…
