Chalk up another big scoop for New York Times sports reporter Michael Schmidt.
The 26-year old journalist, who was the subject of a glowing profile in the New York Observer last year, broke the news this afternoon that former Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees pitcher Roger Clemens will be indicted for perjury. Clemens is accused of giving false statements to Congress related to his use of performance-enhancing drugs.
The Observer”s Josh Koblin, who wrote the profile last year, weighs in again today, ending with the line “Once Clemens gets his day in court, we expect to see Mr. Schmidt there too.”
Indeed, so do we.
