Middle East Crisis: Rita Cosby’s First “Instant Special” Airs Tonight On MSNBC

Rita Cosby will anchor her first “instant documentary” tonight, one week after MSNBC replaced Live & Direct with tapaed programming. “MSNBC Special Report: Mid East Crisis” will air from 10 to 11pm. Another special is scheduled for Tuesday night.

“It’ll be exactly what we said we’d do when there’s big news — use the 10pm slot for instant specials,” an insider said. Expect the program to have live and tape elements.

In a blog entry last week, Cosby aggressively promoted her new “Specials Unit.” “We’ve assembled some terrific and very talented people and plan to deliver to you, our viewers, top-notch interviews and big breaking news,” Cosby wrote. She called it a “hard-working unit” that will be “right there on the scene giving you the inside scoop on the biggest story…”
