NBC, ABC Catch Podcasting Wave

(Is CBS working on similar efforts?)

> Original NBC/MSNBC podcasts will be available soon. “We expect that (Keith) Olbermann before long will be doing stuff,” NBC News Internet and technology consultant Jeff Gralnick says.

> “We’re dealing with an audience that’s no longer rooted to their television sets,” Gralnick tells CNET News. “It’s a much more mobile audience. It’s a much busier audience.”

> PaidContent talks to Bernard Gershon, SVP & GM of the ABC News Digital Media Group. He says ABC is experimenting with content and with length for its podcasts. “We want to play with different lengths of content and see what people like. The longer stuff will be up to an hour and the shorter stuff will be 2-3 minutes. We think, and again this is our guess at this point, iPod people are generally playing songs that are three to four minutes long.”
