As I suspected last week week, NBC is talking to former “Today” co-anchor and “The View” host Meredith Vieira about potentially hosting a daytime talk show, The New York Times‘ Brian Stelter reports.

The earliest that a show could debut would be Fall of 2014, when the 2014-2015 syndication season kicks off. The show, if it happens, could potentially put Vieira up against her former program “The View” in some markets, and her predecessor on “Today” Katie Couric in others.

Last week Vieira left the long-running syndicated game show “Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?” Given that she was able to host that program even as she hosted “Today,” it seemed clear that she was at least thinking about entering the syndication arena for another company.
