NBC News Hit By Virus This Morning

NBC News was hit by a virus earlier today. “CNBC was in bad shape as all functions there (tape, graphics, chryons) are digital and everything happens at the producer’s desktops,” an insider said.

This is the internal message about it: “A new variation of a virus known as W32.Bobax.AH@mm started spreading throughout NBC Universal this morning. This virus may affect access to many IT applications and resources such as email and some PC’s. The NBC Universal IT team has been working to protect all computers throughout NBC Universal from this new virus and will be cleaning all infected computers as soon as possible. If you receive a popup screen from your Symantec Antivirus on your PC that notifies you that it is infected, please shut down your PC and contact the IT Help Desk (###) ###-#### to open a ticket. They can ensure that your computer is cleaned from this virus and is protected from further infection before reconnecting to the network. Thank you for your patience as we work to resolve this issue.”
