NBC News Opens Bureau In New Orleans

NBC News is opening a full-time news bureau in New Orleans, the network announced today. It will operate in conjunction with the NBC affiliate WDSU.

Said Capus, “The establishment of this bureau demonstrates our commitment to thorough and complete coverage of the storm’s aftermath, rebuilding efforts and all of the important societal issues associated with this story.”

Frieda Morris, NBC News’ southeast bureau chief will serve as the New Orleans bureau chief. The first correspondent assigned to the bureau is Martin Savidge. Brian Williams anchored Nightly News from New Orleans again tonight…
