TVNewser has learned Michael Bass, the former senior EP of CBS' The Early Show, has returned to NBC. Our tipster tells us Bass is working in a business development role there.

Bass was the number two producer at the Today show when now-NBCU CEO Jeff Zucker headed up that program. Bass left NBC in 2001 and was named to the CBS job in May 2002. He departed CBS not long after Shelley Ross was named senior EP of The Early Show in September.
