NBC News Senior Producer Dies
Police initially suspected Wishnie was the victim of a hit-and-run driver, but later "called off a search for any such motorist." Police do not believe foul play was involved. Wishnie was married to NBC News correspondent Dawn Fratangelo. TVNewser has received several emails, from people inside NBC and from its competitors, expressing their sadness at hearing the news. One emailer called Wishnie "a beloved producer on Nightly News." On a personal note, I was fortunate to have worked alongside Eric several times (two Olympics and the occasional political event.) He was kind and generous, an incredible talent, who always took time to praise others' work. He was someone I looked up to, the type of producer I aspired to be. Click continued to read a note from NBC News President Steve Capus. Statement from Steve Capus, President, NBC News Eric Wishnie was an enormously talented former senior producer at NBC News, who had a hand in some of the most monumental and memorable news stories of our time. The entire NBC News family is devastated by this loss, and extends our deepest sympathies to his family. Email This Post |
