On “NBC Nightly News” last night, the program led off with a report from Richard Engel in Libya. Engel met up with a group of rebels near the town of Ajdabiya.
Engel spoke to a man who was armed only with a plastic gun, with Libyan artillery landed maybe 50 yards away from their location, and it was caught on camera:
While “Nightly” led with news from Libya, Jerusalem, Japan and The White House, both “ABC World News” and “CBS Evening News” led with the death of Elizabeth Taylor. “Nightly” paid tribute to Taylor as well at the end of the broadcast.
