Networks Cover Abduction Story
While most of the news coverage has focused on Sen. Kennedy’s services, the cable and broadcast networks have also picked up one of the stranger stories this week, that of Jaycee Dugard who was kidnapped in 1991 and held captive for 18 years, giving birth to two children with her captor.
This morning on “The Early Show,” Jaycee’s step-father Carl Probyn, spoke with Maggie Rodriguez and Chris Wragge about the developments. (CBS video here.) Probyn also made appearances on “Today” with Ann Curry, on “GMA” speaking with Chris Cuomo, and on CNN’s “American Morning.”
In the early afternoon, the cable networks continued covering the story. We noticed it was the lead story on MSNBC’s “Dr. Nancy” and was the subject of frequent reports on CNN and Fox News. Some grabs:
