Networks Headed to Ghana
As a part of his international tour that includes Russia and G8 meetings in Italy, Pres. Barack Obama will be making his first stop to sub-Saharan Africa since entering office. Pres. Obama is scheduled to arrive in Ghana on Friday for a weekend visit.
We have already reported that Mara Schiavocampo is there now for NBC and “Nightly News.”
And today CNN started running promos for Anderson Cooper who will also be traveling to the African nation. The “AC360″ blog is promoting a Monday report from Anderson as he “takes this historic journey with President Obama.”
Other members of the White House press corps will be continuing on to Africa with Obama including Fox News’ Major Garret. Another News Corp. network, Sky News, is getting a sit-down interview with Pres. Obama in Ghana this weekend.
> Update: ABC has informed us that Ron Claiborne of GMA Weekend will be reporting live from Ghana this weekend.
