Nightline Beats Letterman for Third Straight Week

The good news keeps coming for Nightline. The ABC News program topped CBS’ Late Show with David Letterman in Total Viewers and the A25-54 demo for the third straight week.

The last time Nightline beat Letterman for three consecutive weeks was during the writer’s strike last Nov/Dec. But then, Letterman was in reruns. The last time Nightline beat Letterman for three consecutive weeks when both were running original shows was in April/May of 2003, at the start of the Iraq war. For the week of July 21-25:

• Nightline averaged 3.02M Total Viewers & 1.40M A25-54 viewers.

• Late Show averaged 2.87M Total Viewers & 1.34M A25-54 viewers.
