‘Nightline’ Wins July Sweep

“Nightline” wins its second straight sweeps in viewers and two key demos. Additionally, July was the first time “Nightline” was #1 in both the A25-54 and A18-49 demos during a July sweep, beating both NBC’s “The Tonight Show” and CBS’ “The Late Show.”

“Nightline’s” July sweeps win was the first time since July 1993 that the news program has topped NBC’s “The Tonight Show.”

ABC’s ratings are based on a 25-minute broadcast, while CBS and NBC are based on approximately :50 minutes (prior to the final national commercial break of each program).
