“Now with Alex Wagner” is having an all women’s hour today for its second annual “Women in Leadership” show.
“As far as women have come — both politically and socially — the fundamental issue of equality still remains,” Wagner told TVNewser.
“Economically, women are still earning far less than their male counterparts, despite the fact that they are, increasingly, the breadwinners in the American family,” she continued, adding that while women make up over half of the country they’re still vastly under-represented.
On today’s show at NoonET, Wagner will interview House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, Glamour Editor-in-Chief Cindi Leive, MSNBC colleague Melissa Harris Perry, comedian Lizz Winstead, former Texas Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, and more.
Last year’s debut of the series was nominated for a 2013 TV Emmy in the outstanding news discussion and analysis category.
