Obama vs. Fox is No. 5 Story Last Week

According to the PEJ News Coverage Index, the White House’s war on Fox News was the #5 most reported story last week.

The economic crisis topped the news agenda, registering at 15% of the newshole. But the Obama administration’s feud with Fox News was the fifth-biggest story of the week. While the story made up 5% of the newshole, it got the most attention on cable news and radio (12% of airtime in both).

Last week’s #2 story, the war in Afghanistan, is quickly rising to the #1 story this week. The news of 8 more troops killed today has made October the deadliest month for U.S. forces in the 8-year long war.
