Olbermann, Orman Win GLAAD Awards

MSNBC’s Keith Olbermann and CNBC’s Suze Orman were two of the winners at Saturday night’s GLAAD Awards in New York City.

Olbermann won for “Outstanding TV Journalism Segment” for his Special Comment about gay marriage. “Accepting the award, Olbermann magnanimously apologized for not having done the segment prior to the Prop. 8 vote,” writes Queerty.com’s Ben Harvey.

Orman won the Vito Russo Award (given to an openly lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender media professional who has made a significant difference in promoting equal rights for the LGBT community). During her speech, she turned her attention towards corporate America. “Do you want to continue to give your money to people in corporations that oppress us, that keep us down?” she asked. “Or do you want to give your money to the corporations who can help us rise and change what needs to be changed in the United States of America today.”

Other winners included Phil Donahue and Tyra Banks.
