Pilot Season at CNN?
The New York Post‘s Page Six, which has been on a tear recently when it comes to rumors about CNN, posts details today about a few pilots the network has shot in recent weeks.
Among the pilots: a “TMZ-like” show with producers talking conversationally about the days news on camera, and a revival of “Capital Gang,” which was canceled in 2005.
“This reinforces the fact that we shoot pilots all of the time,” a CNN spokesperson told the paper.
Just because CNN shoots a pilot, it does not mean that a pickup is imminent. That having been said, the political focus of the pilots mentioned, along with the fact that “John King, USA” EP Michelle Jaconi was among those auditioning, suggests that 7 PM is the hour most likely next in line for changes, whatever they may be.
Update: TVNewser that Jaconi was not auditioning, but rather was making what is being described as a “brief cameo” as herself, the executive producer of a CNN show. giving a behind the scenes look at what goes into producing a daily program.
