Pittsburgh Penguins Top Local NHL Ratings Again

The Pittsburgh Penguins averaged the league’s highest local TV rating for the fourth consecutive season.
Pens games on Root Sports (formally FSN Pittsburgh) averaged a 8.68 rating and 101,000 homes per game. Pittsburgh is the league’s 22nd largest market.
Declining in the ratings were the San Jose Sharks. Ratings were down 28 percent on CSN California with a 0.80 rating, good for 14th on the list.
According to SportsBusiness Journal, 11 of the 22 teams for which the publication had date for showed a ratings increase. Ratings weren’t available for the six Canadian clubs, the Carolina Hurricane and the Nashville Predators.
