CBS To Broadcast Candidiate Town Hall on Military IssuesCBS is setting aside two hours of prime time next month for a presidential candidates' town hall meeting. One problem: so far, only one of the candidates has agreed to the event. The NYTimes' Kate Zernike reports that Sen. John McCain has agreed to the town hall meeting at the Expo Center in Belton, TX,about 25 miles from Ft. Hood. Zernike reports that CBS has agreed to broadcast the event live from 9pm to 11pmET Monday, Aug. 11. The questions would come directly from service members, their families and veterans. It's not known if a CBS News anchor or correspondent would participate as a moderator. Last month, Fox News Channel provided the production for and broadcast a town hall meeting in New York City that was only attended by candidate McCain. Email This Post |
