Funny thing with the town hall style debate — the candidates have a tendency of roaming all over the place, keeping camera operators alert, as the candidates lose track of time. That left moderator Tom Brokaw to ask, remind, plead with the nominees to stick to the rules.

Brokaw reminded Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama three times to stick to the rules — rules their campaigns came up with. But 40 minutes into the debate, Brokaw gave in, saying, "since the rules are pretty loose here, I will add my own to this [question]."

Then, after the mud had been slung, and Brokaw began to deliver his closing remarks, Sens. McCain and Obama met mid-stage, shook hands, and got in the way of the teleprompter:
