ABC’s “most prized location” for Pope stand-ups “was an apartment balcony overlooking Vatican Plaza,” the Star-Ledger’s Matt Zoller Seitz writes. “The apartment’s owner had agreed a decade ago to let ABC use the balcony for an agreed-upon fee. Two weeks ago, the owner unexpectedly died, and the news division had to renegotiate with the apartment’s new owner, who wanted more money (and got it).”
