Pope Francis Named TIME Person of the Year on ‘Today’

TIME managing editor Nancy Gibbs revealed the magazine’s Person of the Year, Pope Francis, on the “Today” show this morning. The top five finalists included Syrian president Bashar al-Assad, Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX), gay rights activist Edith Windsor and Edward Snowden, who was the runner-up. Watch:
