Primetime ‘Nightline’ Pushed To May

When ABC announced that Jimmy Kimmel and “Nightline” would be swapping their 11:35 and 12:35 timeslots, the network said that come March 1, 2013, “Nightline” would have a home in primetime.

“Audiences Can Begin and End Their Day with ABC News as ‘Nightline’ Shifts to 12:35 a.m. on January 9 and Adds a Primetime Hour Every Friday Night at 9:00 p.m. Beginning March 1,” ABC said at the time.

Well, obviously March 1 has come and gone, and “Nightline” isn’t on the schedule yet. That said, TVNewser hears that the show will still be getting a primetime slot, likely starting in May.

The last time “Nightline” had a primetime run (as a make-good after Kimmel knocked five minutes off of every night’s broadcast), the show featured an hour on the Casey Anthony trial, as well as a series on supernatural powers called “Beyond Belief.” This time, however, ABC says that the primetime “Nightline” will have a permanent spot on the network’s schedule.
