Q1 2008 Ratings: Demo Down, Total Up For CNBC

cnbclogo_4-1.jpgWhile CNBC continues to grow in Total Viewers, the A25-54 demo numbers continue to slide. For Q1 2008, CNBC was down in many “business day” hours (5amET-7pmET) year-to-year. From 9amET-6pmET, every hour was down in the A25-54 demo. Before 9amET, however, Worldwide Exchange (5amET) was up 54% and Squawk Box (6-9amET) was flat. Mad Money at 6pmET was up 4% year-to-year. Power Lunch (Noon-2pmET) saw the biggest drop during that time period, losing 32% of its demo audience, year-to-year.

While CNBC is down in the demo, the Total Viewers continued to grow. For total day, CNBC had its best quarter since Q4 2001 and is up 15% year-to-year. During “business day”, the network is up 20% year-to-year, and had its best quarter since the Q2 2001.
