Rand Paul Calls Appearing on ‘Rachel Maddow’ a ‘Poor Decision’

maddow_paul_5-20.jpgDr. Rand Paul, who recently became the GOP nominee in Kentucky’s Senate race, appeared on Rachel Maddow‘s MSNBC program Wednesday night in a segment that soon made its way around the blogs. HuffPost reports today that Paul is expressing regret about his decision to be interviewed on the show:

“It was a poor political decision and probably won’t be happening anytime in the near future,” the Tea Party endorsed Senate candidate said on the Laura Ingraham show on Thursday morning. “Because, yeah, they can play things and want to say, ‘Oh you believed in beating up people that were trying to sit in restaurants in the 1960s.’ And that is such a ridiculous notion and something that no rational person is in favor of. [But] she went on and on about that.”

Interestingly, Paul had initially announced his candidacy on Maddow’s program. He is also appearing on “This Situation Room” this evening.
