Fox News had four of the top five cable news show in October (in Total Viewers, Live+SD), and six of the top 10. The top FNC program was again The O'Reilly Factor, while Anderson Cooper 360 was CNN's top program, finishing 4th. Countdown came in at #6 as MSNBC's top program.

Fox News was the #2 cable channel on all of cable during October, averaging 3,362,000 Total Viewers during prime time. CNN finished 5th (2,139,000), MSNBC 9th (1,579,000) and Headline News 28th (666,000). In total day, FNC was 3rd (1,490,000), CNN 9th (1,008,000), MSNBC 13th (675,000) and CNBC 29th (380,000).
