Report: Lou Dobbs Employed Illegal Immigrants

According to a report in The Nation, former CNN anchor and regular TV news talking head Lou Dobbs employed illegal immigrants to care for his stables and horses.

That in and of itself would not be a big deal, except for the fact that Dobbs (pictured here in an episode of CBS’ “The Good Wife” which aired this week) spent a good deal of time on his TV and radio shows railing against the practice.

Of course, since leaving CNN Dobbs has softened his stance on the matter, telling ABC’s “Nightline” in January “Hell yes I’m changing my tune,” when it comes to illegal immigration.

While The Nation report is extremely thorough, it is not the first time that Dobbs has been accused of hiring illegal labor. MSNBC host Keith Olbermann reported the same thing back in late 2007. Video of that “Countdown” segment (via Mediaite) is after the jump.

Update: Dobbs appeared on MSNBC’s “The Last Word” with the author of the article. Video after the jump.
