Richard Engel Takes Break from Overseas Reporting to Present Awards
At last night’s duPont Awards for Broadcast News at Columbia University, TVNewser talked to NBC’s chief foreign correspondent Richard Engel who was a presenter along with Gwen Ifill. Engel has received his share of awards, including two Emmy awards this year for his “Tip of the Spear” Afghanistan reporting as well as a 2008 duPont award. Awards galas are a rare break for Engel who makes frequent trips to Iraq and Afghanistan, something we asked him about:
