Dr. Sanjay Gupta‘s appearance on Campbell Brown: No Bias, No Bull tonight was his first live shot on CNN since being tapped to be Surgeon General in the Obama Administration.

Gupta’s weekend show, “House Call” aired Saturday and Sunday morning, as did a taped package from the CNN medical correspondent, but his discussion of the physical trauma suffered by some of the passengers of USAirways flight 1549 was his first live medical report since before the Surgeon General news broke last Tuesday, Jan. 6.

Brown and Gupta did not talk about the Surgeon General news.

Incidentally, a commercial for Cisco that aired after the Gupta segment was all about air travel and included the line:

a water evacuation… unlikely. But just in case, your seat cushion… may also be used… as a flotation… device.
