Major League Baseball has tapped Tom Schieffer to run day-to-day operations of the Los Angeles Dodgers. Schieffer is the younger brother of CBS News anchor Bob Schieffer.

The younger Schieffer was previously president of the Texas Rangers, tough his world overlapped with his older brother’s recently when he served in the administration of president George W. Bush, as ambassador to Australia, and later Japan.
