Seacrest Out…

Am I the only person who is surprised by CNN’s decision to place Ryan Seacrest in Larry King‘s chair as a sub host? As Michael Starr reported today, the American Idol host will be filling in for CNN’s #1 personality. But Seacrest an entertainment radio DJ — he doesn’t belong on CNN if he’s hosting talent competitions.

Whatever happened to Jon Klein‘s quality talk? “We don’t mind having quality be our shtick,” he said in June. Of course, CNN says the 9pm time slot is just one hour of a never-ending news wheel. But putting Seacrest in primetime doesn’t scream “the world’s news leader…”
