Shep Asks: “Should Fox News Reconsider?”

FNC_14.jpgShepard Smith, talking with Greta Van Susteren and Susan Estrich went there during the late-night coverage of the Iowa caucuses.

Smith was talking about Rep. Ron Paul‘s 10% support from caucus-goers. “More than double” what Rudy Giuliani got, Smith said. Then he asked the question: “Should Fox News reconsider” and allow Paul in the GOP forum set for Sunday night?

As it stands: Mike Huckabee, Fred Thompson, Sen. John McCain, Mitt Romney and Giuliani are the only ones invited.

Van Susteren said, “at the risk of getting in trouble…” To which Smith added, “We don’t get in trouble for talking about things at Fox.” Greta: “I was just joking with you.”

Shep then explained the process of the forum and why it was kept to just five candidates. The venue “doesn’t hold a lot of people..they want to put five people around the table” plus moderator Chris Wallace. Greta then had a suggestion: “If we don’t have enough room for all of them, maybe we ought to do two debates.”
