Sinise Special Airs on FNC This Weekend

sinise_1-8.jpgGary Sinise moves from “CSI: NY” to Iraq, with a special on Fox News premiering at 9pmET Saturday, following the actor on a visit to the region last year.

It is Sinise’s fourth trip to Iraq since 9/11. The Los Angeles Times’ Matea Gold writes that Sinise “agreed to let his friend filmmaker Jonathan Flora shoot footage of his trip last year to put a spotlight on the thousands of troops who remain in combat.”

Says Sinise, “Iraq is off the front page now and has been replaced with other things, so unless you are personally attached or involved with someone who has sacrificed, who is serving in the military, then you’re probably not too aware.”

Related: The Hollywood Reporter’s Paul J. Gough interviewed Sinise, who said of Fox News: “They’ve done a lot of these types of pieces on the Iraq War before, and we thought they’d be interested.”
