Six Weeks, Three CNN Stories In NYT

Has anyone else noticed the New York Times’ apparent fascination with CNN? Today’s Lou Dobbs story is the third major piece about CNN in the Times in just over six weeks.

On Feb. 13, Jacques Steinberg wrote a story titled “Challenging a Rival, Viewer by Viewer.” Then on Feb. 15, Rachel L. Swarns wrote a story titled “Dobbs’s Outspokenness Draws Fans and Fire.” But the Times hasn’t been anything substantial about Fox News Channel or MSNBC this year.

A Fox staffer doesn’t think it’s helping the net. They joked, “No matter how much CPR the Times gives CNN, it’s still hasn’t gotten them out of cardiac arrest.”
