Stossel on Story Bump: “I Hate It That ABC Didn’t Run My Piece”

Stossel_7.2.jpgOn his ABCNews.com blog Monday, John Stossel wrote, “I am sick of the coverage of Michael Jackson.” Turns out he’s sick of the coverage due in part because a 5-minute piece he had produced on the health care plan was bumped from Friday’s “20/20.” In it’s place: another story on Jackson. “I hate it that ABC didn’t run my piece,” he continues.

But before you think Stossel went rogue on the blog, ABC News tells us all posts from staffers are vetted and approved before publishing.

Of the story swap-out, ABC News SVP Jeffrey Schneider tells the NYPost the Jackson story, “continues to develop hour by hour and day by day. There’s enormous interest in it.”

Stossel’s health care piece is now set to run on the July 17 edition of “20/20.”
