NBC’s “Meet the Press” returned this week to the top spot among total viewers — after a week off for Wimbledon — on a close summer Sunday, but CBS’ “Face the Nation” drew the most viewers in the demo, thanks, in part, to a strong lead-in.

“This Week,” which had been ahead of CBS in both categories for the past three weeks, slipped back to third. ABC announced earlier this week that Christiane Amanpour will be taking over the reins of the program from interim host Jake Tapper as of August 1st.

Cable and network rebroadcasts of “MTP” drew an additional 1,205,000 viewers. “Fox News Sunday” drew an additional 1,934,000 total viewers on cable replays.
