• Fox News correspondent Adam Housley and his wife, actresss Tamera Mowry-Housley welcomed baby Aden John Tanner Housley into the world last night. “After 24 hours of labor,” Housley writes, “Mom and the kid are resting well and dad is writing the e-mail.”

• Broadcasting & Cable EIC Ben Grossman is joining Twitter where he will be Head of Global Operations for Twitter Media.”I will now look forward to becoming a reader of B&C’s magazine every week and digital products every day,” Grossman writes in a goodbye email. Last Tuesday evening, Housley went to the emergency room in Ft. Collins, CO with an eye irritation. Fox News says the irritation was caused by a combination of the smoke in the air and the lights used for the liveshots. He was treated with eye drops and antibiotics. LA-based Housley has recovered and has already moved on to another story. And on Wednesday he and his wife, actress Tamera Mowry, shared some good news: they’re having a boy.

Now Tia and Tamera star in a series for Style Network called, well, “Tia and Tamera,” and you can expect the pregnancy news to play a significant part in the upcoming season.

ABC’s David Muir, who was in the area of the plant yesterday and moved south after the explosion. During “Nightline” he held up a radiation meter which was not detecting anything out of the ordinary. This morning, that changed Diane Sawyer and her crew began heading back to Tokyo, explaining to George Stephanopoulos on “GMA” that radiation levels had increased through the day. “We came down this highway, the 7 1/2 hour trip,” said Sawyer. “We’re about midway through it now.” Correspondent Clarissa Ward has also moved out of the area. Her Japanese translator left the ABC News team yesterday, fearing radiation poisoning.

Weather becomes an important factor in this story as correspondents and crews watch the wind while covering the story.

“We are closely monitoring the situation, moment by moment,” David Verdi, VP of worldwide news gathering for NBC News tells TVNewser. “We are constantly consulting with our experts and tracking the wind patterns.” In addition to Lester Holt (right), Ann Curry, Chris Jansing, Ian Williams and Lee Cowan are covering for NBC/MSNBC.

CBS’s Harry Smith was in Northern Japan this morning for “The Early Show,” but he and all other CBS staffers have left. “We have moved our teams out of Sendai, Japan and we continue to reassess deployments, as the situation warrants,” says CBS News VP Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews.

CNN has 12 on-air and dozens more off-air staffers in Japan. Anderson Cooper has left the area of the nuclear plant and is heading north and will anchor from Akita, Japan, north of Sendai. “The situation is under constant review and the safety and well-being of our reporters in the field is our top priority,” says a spokesperson.

Fox News says it is constantly evaluating the situation, and has pulled its correspondents back to Tokyo. Shepard Smith, Adam Housley and Greg Palkot are in Tokyo, while David Piper is at Yokota airbase.

Fox News is going into overdrive tonight in primetime. There will be two-hour editions of “Fox Report” and “Geraldo at Large.” Adam Housley is also on the scene for Fox and is Tweeting his experience between live shots:

Christiane Amanpour is among the network anchors packing their bags and heading for Japan. Amanpour will host “This Week” from Tokyo on Sunday, the only Sunday show host to do so. ABC News says “World News” weekend anchor David Muir, and correspondent Clarissa Ward are also en route to Japan to report on the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami.

For NBC News Weekend “Today” and Weekend “Nightly News” anchor Lester Holt, is on his way as is “Today” news anchor Ann Curry. Correspondent Lee Cowan, and Ian Williams are in route as well.

For CBS News, anchor Harry Smith will lead coverage for the network. Correspondent Lucy Craft continues her reporting and correspondents Bill Whitaker and Charlie D’Agata are also en route.

Overnight, CNN and MSNBC were live  covering the rescue of the trapped miners in Chile.

MSNBC had Chris Jansing anchoring from 1 AM until “Morning Joe.” Jansing was back on the air at 10 AM this morning, wearing the same outfit she wore overnight.

CNN went to a simulcast of CNN International starting at 1 AM ET and running until “American Morning” started at 5 AM.

Yesterday, a “source close to the couple” told E! that “they were engaged a few years ago, but broke it off” and that “her family is not crazy about him…Tia and Adam don’t always get along, but the couple are happy together and giving it another try.”

But a source close to the couple tells TVNewser that LA-based Housley and the Mowry family “get along fabulously and have for a long time.” TVNewser has also learned that Tia as well as the twins’ brother are in the wedding party. Our source also disputes E!’s reporting that a previous engagement was broken off, calling it “laughable.”

The gossip spread quickly around the web and was even reported on some local newscasts. The local FOX O&O in Orlando, WOFL, went so far as to misreport that Housley “popped the question to another FOX correspondent.” Frankly, we’d love to see this happen, but it seems unlikely.

I mean this with no disrespect and with no touch of humor: Only George Steinbrenner could pass away on the morning of – and thus overshadow – baseball’s All-Star Game.

Olbermann is a veteran of ESPN and Fox Sports, where he covered playoff baseball extensively. He says has known Steinbrenner since was 14, and first interviewed “The Boss” as far back as 1980. Housley wound up using a plug-in mike he found at the show to record better audio for reports shot on his iPhone. Then, a little more tech wizardry allowed Housley and his cameraman, Eric Barnes, to turn rescue footage shot by Congressman Kendrick Meek of Florida into broadcast news.

As for getting involved, Housley wants to stay out of the way. “The point is, the story isn’t about us,” he said. “Our job is to show it. We will never leave somebody hanging, but if we were to go out there all of a sudden with water in the back of our truck, passing it out every time we do a story, it would cause more of a problem than a help.

This comes in response to a FOX Report story about the department’s need for updated firearms. “Phoenix PD says after seeing the story he called them and said he wanted to give them some money to donate to their program,” reported Adam Housley last night on The FOX Report.

Spade showed up in person to give the donation, but did not speak to the media, instead issuing this statement from his publicist: “These guys need to be able to do their jobs and I’m just happy I can help.” Is there a “Just Shoot Me” reference to be made here? Please add yours in the comments.
