CNN Looking to air ‘Political Jeopardy!’ … and Other News From Hacked Sony Emails

FrancoRogenRacially-charged emails regarding Barack Obama, criticism of mega-stars, including Angelina Jolie and Adam Sandler, and private financial documents have already been revealed as a result of the Sony Pictures hack. Now the drama is impacting the news media… and we’re not just talking about CNN possibly getting into game shows.

Academy and Emmy-award winning writer Aaron Sorkin went on the “Today” show this morning to discuss his New York Times op-ed criticizing the media for reporting on the leaks.

It’s ironic, because Sorkin’s op-ed will get anyone up-to-speed on all the leaked data, even if they’ve been living under a rock since the story broke. Gawker’s Heather Dietrick, says the less than :30 clip is “squarely protected by the First Amendment.”

Over on “Good Morning America” this morning Seth Rogen and James Franco talked about the controversial film. Both star in “The Interview.” Rogen is also co-director and has a story credit. A Surprise Celebrity Appearance on ‘New Day’

Sandler was walking through Columbus Circle with his kids when he happened upon Chris Cuomo, who was anchoring “New Day” from outside the Time Warner building. “We just saw a man with big handsome shoulders and we said, we need to see that up close,” Sandler joked. Watch:

Hope Solo Signs Endorsement Deal With Gatorade

Goalie Hope Solo signed a multi-year marketing deal with Gatorade, according to Sports Business Daily.

This is the second major endorsement deal for a player from the U.S. women’s national soccer team. Following a second place finish in the Women’s World Cup, Solo, along with Abby Wambach and Alex Morgan, inked an endorsement deal with Bank of America.

“Being on the cover of Sports Illustrated helped her awareness with the general public,” Richard Motzkin of Wasserman Media Group told SBJ. “She has an opportunity to become well-known not just in the soccer scene, but in the public mainstream as well.” Motzkin has represented Solo for 10 years.

Gatorade is no stranger when it comes to sponsorships with the U.S. women’s national team. The beverage company has sponsored the ladies since 1999 and they signed Wambach to an individual deal in 2004.
