Aditi Roy Named Correspondent For ABC News

ABC News has named Aditi Roy as a correspondent, based in Los Angeles.

Roy has spent the last decade or so at WCAU, the NBC O&O in Philadelphia, most recently as the morning anchor. She left the station in February to move to the west coast, where she apparently had “a job lined up.” Now we know exactly what that job was.

Aditi Roy to report for NBC News in Los Angeles for the summer

Philly.com reports WCAU morning anchor Aditi Roy, is getting “a national tryout” on NBC News. Roy, co-anchors mornings on the NBC O&O, will work out of NBC’s Los Angeles bureau for the summer. The LA bureau is short-staffed at the moment as correspondent Kristen Welker, also a WCAU alum, has been reporting from the White House, since Savannah Guthrie left the beat to co-anchor the third hour of “Today.”

Welker had a similar tryout last year before joining NBC News last August.
