Scarborough, Matthews Headline Comedy Festival

The third annual Nantucket Comedy Festival is on this week, and tonight is media night. MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough and Chris Matthews are taking part, as is Fortune managing editor Andy Serwer, who makes appearances on CNN now and again. The night is dubbed: “The Daily Steaming Hot Cup of Hardball Show.”

> National Journal reports former ABC Newsman John Miller, whose also had stints with the NYPD and LAPD, is leaving his public affairs role at the FBI to help lead reform efforts for the intelligence community. National Journal’s sources say Miller will move to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

> “Fox & Friends” co-host Gretchen Carlson appears in this week’s issue of In Touch magazine. Carlson, and her deluxe kitchen, are featured in the “Design Spotlight” section. Here’s an image of it.

> CNBC and Fortune are collaborating for a one-hour primetime special featuring profiles of five of the fastest growing public companies. The companies are ranked on revenue, earnings growth, and stock returns. Tyler Mathisen and Andy Serwer co-host the special tomorrow night at 9 & 11pmET on CNBC.

Velshi Leading CNN “Money Summit”

velshi_1-29.jpgCNN chief business correspondent Ali Velshi will lead CNN’s first “Money Summit,” airing tomorrow at 11pmET and Saturday at 8pmET.

The Summit is called an “Anderson Cooper 360 special.”

Velshi will lead a panel discussion on a variety of issues facing President Barack Obama. Guests include Fortune editor Andy Serwer, CNN political analyst David Gergen and more.

CNN Docs Premiere This Weekend

romans_1-7.JPGAs one Doc is potentially exiting CNN, two other docs will premiere on the network this weekend.

The first is a television version of the documentary, “I.O.U.S.A.”” Following the premiere at 2pmET on Saturday, Ali Velshi and Christine Romans co-host a panel discussion with policy leaders. It re-airs Sunday at 3pmET.

The other special takes a look at the Bernie Madoff scandal. “Madoff: Secrets of a Scandal — A CNN-Fortune Special Investigation” is hosted by Romans and Fortune‘s Andy Serwer. It premieres Saturday at 8pmET and is re-aired on Sunday at 8pmET.
